Why this website ?

Frankly, I was not interested in the technique behind this. At all. I have always been fascinated by aircrafts (and cars...) but I am not a pilot myself (although I could not resist buying and enjoying a flight simulator).

I am fortunate enough to travel quite a while, which enabled me to take some of the photographs I present here. Some other ones were taken by regular spotting. My great regret is not to have shot at all nice aircrafts I have seen within the last ten years during my journeys. "Late vocation", I guess... I could have filled a whole photo gallery on my own.

Purpose of the site

I would have liked to become a partner on somebody else's site, helping with photographs, doing some research about airlines and aircrafts, adding my own "flying" experience, putting together a few nice texts to add to the masterwork of another person who would be a computer initiated person (maybe a specialist), who would be more interested in history than I am myself, who would have started something solid, serious, maybe already impressive. It was NOT in my intentions to add some more personal or "egotic" site to the internet but to put my energy in common with a complementary person. But you know how things can turn out to be in this very individual world. So far, not possible.

The concept

All right, then let's go ahead with this concept marrying pictures and some texts or stories. A first part composed of photos either recent or among the best : they are shown to you as thumbnails (but you can click to have a larger image). I also give a short comment about them. My knowledge ofthose thinks is limited and I try to learn while telling you things about the aircrafts.

Many more other pictures are filed in a list by aircrafts and a list by airlines (the first ones can sometimes be among these ones too).

Some specific pages are dedicated to Belgian airlines, because this is my nationality and they are the airlines the most easy for me to get information about. The more information I will get on other airlines and the faster they will receive a special page as well. Recently, I could add some foreign airlines and will keep doing so.

As I already mentioned, I am not interested in history and old things too much. I'll keep myself in the present. Many other sites do a great job showing and explaining older aircrafts.

I will concentrate on commercial airliners, mostly of a certain mass, with a obvious personal taste for wide bodies.

This has no certainty of being good or excellent in any way. But I try to make it good, interesting and "live".

While reading and visiting this site, you'll have a bit of me in your mind

Hope it's pleasant.
