In the mid ‘90s DAT replaced their Fokkers 28 « Fellowship » by Avros, which massively invaded the Brussels premises. A few Avro RJ 100 (4 owned and 5 leased) as well as some Bae 146 (4 owned and 2 leased) complete the fleet of Avros RJ85 (1 owned and 13 leased) that flies under Sabena livery. From a distance, there’s no way to tell them apart from Sabena planes. From nearby, a small sticker is visible on the right side of the front door (« operated by DAT »). To my knowledge, however, the easiest way is to consider that Sabena do not own any Avro on their own and that every Avro seen with these colors is a DAT one.

DAT is a subsidiary of Sabena and as such is mainly in charge of the short haul flights (Bordeaux, Jersey, Naples,…).

They have three more orders for RJ100s to be delivered before the end of 99.

OO-DJG, Delta Air Transport, BAe 146-200 (1990), in regular Sabena livery, at Brussels on July 21st '99, landing (nose up, rubber fumes...) on runway 25L after landing. Third oldest plane in the fleet.
OO-DJF, Delta Air Transport BAe 146-200 (1990) at Brussels (BRU) in final for runway 25L. It's the second oldest plane in the fleet, after DJE.
OO-DWI, Delta Air Transport, Avro RJ 100 (1998) in new white and blue Sabena livery at Brussels (BRU) in final for runway 25L on July 21st '99.
OO-DWD, Delta Air Transport, Avro RJ 100 (1998) in special 75th anniversary livery at Brussels (BRU) on Jul. 21st '99 in final for runway 25L.
OO-DJE, Delta Air Transport, BAe 146-200 (1990) in new Sabena livery at Brussels (BRU) in final for runway 25L on September 6th '99. You will notice the incompletely painted tail fin, probably showing a rush in using available planes. Oldest plane in the BAe fleet.
Ultimate evolution by the summer 2001 : they have got a blue belly like Swissair. Landing on 25L at Brussels on May 1st 2001.
